LUNAGUA

A king and queen live in harmony with nature; a sandcastle and a tree are their own personal paradise and its maintenance is their only concern. Only the best is good enough. They use the purest water and flawless sand to build towers and walls. They use too much, however, and one of the towers collapses, putting pressure on the family relationship itself. They must abandon personal interests in order to stay alive...

In this scenario, which combines science fictionesque images, unique lighting and sound effects, it is apparent that only the earth itself can truly control water and sand.

Lunagua was originally commissioned by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Mexico on the occasion of the 2006 World Water Forum in Mexico City, where the piece premiered.
